Sony Trinitron was a brand of cathode ray tube (CRT) televisions and computer monitors produced by Sony, starting in 1968. Trinitron used a technology that produced a brighter picture with better color accuracy and reduced the amount of glare and reflection on the screen.
The Trinitron brand became famous for its high-quality picture and became one of the most popular television brands in the world. In the 1980s, Sony introduced the Trinitron WEGA series, which incorporated a new flat-screen design, making them more compact and modern-looking.
Sony ended production of Trinitron CRTs in 2008, as the market moved towards flat-panel LCD and plasma displays. However, Trinitron remains a popular vintage brand, and many enthusiasts still use and collect them.
